Strengthening Ties: Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago hosts St Christopher and Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority Delegation for Technical Exchange

Port of Spain, Trinidad– The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (PATT) is proud to host a delegation from the St Christopher and Nevis Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) for a week-long technical exchange and capacity-building visit from July 5 to 14, 2025.

The seven-member delegation, comprising officials from equipment maintenance, cargo operations and facility management, is engaging in a comprehensive programme of presentations, site tours, and hands-on learning sessions across several key departments, including Terminal Operations, Equipment, HSE, Security, and Property Development.

The initiative aims to foster regional collaboration and knowledge exchange between the two ports, enabling participants to share best practices, enhance operational standards, and identify opportunities for mutual improvement. The delegation is particularly focused on areas such as risk management, equipment certification, preventative maintenance strategies, and workforce development.

“Networking is important. More than ever, given the current world dynamics, the Caribbean has to stick together,” said Marcia Charles- Elbourne, General Manager/ CEO of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. “In the context of ports and shipping, we need to support each other, and be each other’s motivating factor,” she reiterated.

The Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to supporting regional development and capacity building through strategic partnerships, technical cooperation, and knowledge sharing with fellow Caribbean ports.
