Kerra Loves Kids was founded in October 2014 by Kerra Denel; a young driven and passionate Caribbean woman. The organization is based in Trinidad and Tobago. Kerra’s grandmother Ms. Gloria is the inspiration behind “Kerra Loves Kids.” She was widely known within her community as a loving and caring individual who gave from her heart to those in need; Ms. Gloria gave with no expectations, just solely for the sheer joy and love of people.
Sadly, Ms. Gloria departed our world in June, 2014. It was soon after, upon self reflection and soul searching, Kerra embarked on the journey to not only honor the memory of her grandmother, but to also strive to be a reflection of her. By founding Kerra Loves Kids, she was able to do just that.
Thus far, Kerra Loves Kids has executed many successful book drives within the USA and Canada. We have also hosted a number charity initiatives in Trinidad & Tobago; from renewing libraries, donating electronics, mentorship sessions, cooking classes, Christmas events, sports and activity days and more. Most notably, since the founding of Kerra Loves Kids, we have worked with Operation Smile (Gasparillo), Christ Child Convalescent Home (Diego Martin), St. Mary’s Home (Tacarigua), Ezekiel Home (Couva), Wesleyann home (Chickland) and Angel Michael Healing Home (Chaguanas).
At Kerra Loves Kids, we believe that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. It is our mission to foster the growth of our children and teach them the importance of kindness, love and education. As a people, we must inspire others to get involved and build community support. By giving back to those in need and lending a helping hand, we can all contribute to making a positive difference in the world.
