THE MINISTER OF WORKS AND TRANSPORT SENATOR THE HONOURABLE ROHAN SINANAN

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan was born in the community of Sangre Grande and entered the world of business and entrepreneurship over 46 years ago. His passion and pursuit of the dynamic world of business developed as a consequence of his attentiveness to his father’s long history and career as a well-known businessman in the food industry in the community of Sangre Grande. He eventually became the Chief Executive Officer of a large and dynamic holdings company. In his capacity as CEO, Senator Sinanan has extensively worked in diverse areas of finance, insurance, real estate, and the food industry.

Senator Sinanan holds an MBA in Business Administration and has served as the Deputy Chairman of the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation. His successful career in business did not limit his passion for helping people, and over decades, Senator Sinanan has been involved in charities and several volunteer organizations, giving back to deserving initiatives in his childhood community as well as others throughout Trinidad.

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan also holds substantial political experience. As a long- standing member of the People’s National Movement, he also serves as one of the party’s current Deputy Political Leaders. In June 2016, he was appointed a Government Senator and subsequently was entrusted to serve as the Minister of Works and Transport with effect from October 31st 2016.

Senator the Honourable Rohan Sinanan has served with distinction as the Minister of Works and Transport for almost eight years. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication, humility, and an unyielding commitment to improving the nation’s infrastructure and transportation systems. His leadership has been marked by strategic vision, innovative solutions, and a genuine focus on the needs of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

Guided by his principle of serving with dignity, Minister Sinanan has overseen numerous transformative projects that have enhanced connectivity and improved the quality of life across the country. From critical road rehabilitation programs and bridge reconstruction initiatives to modernizing the public transport system, his efforts have left an indelible mark on the nation.

Despite the challenges inherent in such a demanding portfolio, Minister Sinanan has consistently approached his duties with humility, fostering collaboration and inclusivity in decision-making. His exemplary service continues to inspire confidence and set a high standard of leadership in public office.

Senator Sinanan is happily married to Pamela Ramkissoon Sinanan, with one child.
