The structure of the SATT allows for the optimal provision of expertise and experience towards achieving its objectives. The SATT consists of the:
Executive Council – formulates policy and general guidelines for the Association. The President heads this body.
The Secretariat – implements policies and provides critical support for the day-to-day operations of the Association. The General Manager head these functions.
Special Sub-Committees – formed to undertake special projects. It comprises relevant members with expertise related to the terms of reference of the sub-committee and the nature of the project.
Sonja Voisin- graduated from St Joseph’s Convent, Port of Spain Trinidad and pursued her undergraduate education at Barry University, Miami Fl, where she attained her Degree BSc Marketing.
On returning home to Trinidad she started her career at Johnson and Johnson, Trinidad as a Brand Manager handling the company’s main products.
In 1990 she joined Gulf Shipping Limited as a Sales Representative, whilst understudying her father, her mentor. Today, she is the Managing Director at Gulf Shipping.
Sonja has been an active member of the Shipping Association of Trinidad & Tobago and has served as Member, Trustee,VP and in 2005 was elected the first female President.
In October 2003 she was appointed Group A member on General Council for the Caribbean Shipping Association.
In August 2004 she was appointed Commissioner on the Board of the Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago and served for 5 years.
Sonja continues to be dedicated to the Shipping Industry in Trinidad & Tobago.
